TeleHealth Announces Partnership with IKey to Provide Sealed Medical Keyboards to Hospital Market:

(July 14, 2005) TeleHealth Services, the nation’s leading provider of integrated display solutions for the healthcare market, has agreed to distribute iKEY sealed medicalgrade keyboards and pointing devices to its hospital customers.

TeleHealth Services began working with iKEY while seeking sealed keyboards that would be appropriate for use with TeleHealth’s TigrVue™ product, an interactive system housed at the patient’s bedside that offers internet access, patient education, hospital services and other patient amenities, as well as secure clinical access to patient charts and records. The TigrVue product is accessed by patients and hospital staff through a mounted keyboard and touch-screen display.

“In a hospital environment, it is critical for staff and patients to be able to use germ free equipment in the patient room,” says Joel Harris, TeleHealth Vice President of Product Development. “Traditional keyboards are filled with crevices where germs and infectious matter can reside. The iKEY solution eliminates those dirt and disease traps, and easily withstands the harsh cleansers typically used in hospitals. Since a keyboard is a key component to using TigrVue, the iKEY design works perfectly with our system.”

TeleHealth Services expanded its core product line by offering an assortment of iKEY’s medicalgrade sealed keyboards and pointing devices for use with existing hospital computer systems and nursing unit systems. There are a variety of models available through TeleHealth Services, with mounting options, backlight features and mobile options.

“We realized that TeleHealth’s strong relationships with hospitals across the U.S. made them an ideal partner for us,” says Tony Zavaleta, iKEY Marketing Manager. “Having our product as a key component to the TigrVue system is really exciting for us. Even more exciting is TeleHealth’s commitment to ensuring hospital grade solutions are provided for clinicians throughout the hospital, not just at the bedside.”
