TeleHealth Services Launches Video to Encourage Bedside Patient Education

(July 1, 2007) Hospital patients will soon be viewing a 3-minute TIGR® "infomercial" promoting available patient education content and its easy accessibility.

"Access to patient education materials makes a critical difference to patient recovery rates," says Mark Ricketts, TeleHealth Services TIGR Educator. "When we heard that some patients were hesitant to access education videos because they thought there might be additional costs, we knew there was a need to correct this misconception."

The TIGR infomercial plays on a continuous loop on designated hospital channels, building patient awareness of educational videos available through the TIGR system, emphasizing its free access and guiding patients through the system's easy to use telephone interface.

TeleHealth's TIGR Video-On-Demand System gives patients immediate access to a variety of educational videos related to their conditions and recovery efforts. The informative piece illustrates how patients can pick up their bedside telephone, enter an extension number and access educational videos 24 hours a day.

"Hospitals select TIGR because of its proven success and ease of use for patients and staff," says Colleen White, TeleHealth Services Marketing Manager. "TeleHealth is always working to develop new tools and services to assist the hospital's clinical staff in achieving their goals, as well as enhance the patient experience. We think the infomercial will be a success in both of those areas."
