TeleHealth Services and Lakeland HealthCare Connect to Create Outstanding Patient Experience:
St. Joseph, MI and Raleigh, NC – TeleHealth Services, the nation’s leading provider of healthcare grade televisions and communications solutions to hospitals, today announced that it has been selected by Lakeland HealthCare as part of the health system’s strategy to enhance the hospital stay for patients and their families. In keeping with Lakeland’s vision of improving the hospital experience by being progressive and consumer responsive, the Michigan-based health system determined the need for securing a partner who could provide a full suite of services and products to meet their aggressive initiatives.
Looking to enhance its facility services and provide a more home-like experience, Lakeland began a comprehensive search for a new communications and entertainment system provider. After comparing providers, Lakeland chose TeleHealth because of the strong reputation of the Philips healthcare grade televisions, as well as their robust entertainment and patient education solutions. TeleHealth Services’ vast experience in providing both the content as well as the healthcare televisions, combined with leading support and flexible financing options were forefront in the decision.
“In designing our new addition at our St. Joseph campus and reviewing our existing solutions, it was important for us to provide the best possible experience for patients and their families. In choosing TeleHealth Services, we found a partner with an established reputation of combining cost effective, yet technologically advanced solutions with industry leading support,” said Dennis Mack, Vice President of Operations and Facility Management at Lakeland HealthCare. “Our partnership will give patients more entertainment and educational choices. We are excited about this partnership, and see TeleHealth as a true partner in helping us achieve our patient satisfaction goals.”
TeleHealth will be providing Lakeland with a robust package that will include service to their patient and staff video-on-demand education systems. TeleHealth will be providing Lakeland with access to a rich movie and television experience through a partnership with DIRECTV and TeleHealth’s customized, fully assembled DSS headends. Lakeland will also receive Philip’s 22- inch and 32-inch flat screen LCD televisions to offer superior image quality and power saving technologies.
“Lakeland HealthCare is one of the most committed healthcare organizations we have seen when it comes to providing an optimal patient focused experience. Lakeland understands the value of partnerships in promoting the strategic use of technology to enable improvements in business and clinical performance,” said Matt Barker, Director of Marketing at TeleHealth Services. “We are looking forward to working with their staff to enhance the patient stay at Lakeland. Technology can play a critical role in driving efficiencies, enhanced patient education and improvements in health care. The combination of Lakeland’s progressive initiatives and the latest in healthcare television and interactive patient education technology delivers new tools to help enable patient- centered care.”
